Creating an Estimate

Follow these steps to create a new estimate in EZTrack360. Estimates help you provide cost breakdowns to customers before finalizing a sale.

Steps to Create an Estimate

  1. In the left sidebar, click SALES, then select Estimates. This will navigate you to the Estimates page.

  2. Click the New Estimate button, located at the top-right corner of the Estimates page. This action opens the estimate creation form.

  3. In the form, fill in the following details:

    • Title: Enter a descriptive title for the estimate.
    • Description: Add any additional details or context for the estimate (optional).
    • Select Customer: Use the dropdown to associate the estimate with an existing customer from your database.
    • Line Items:
      • Click Add Line Item to add a new item to the estimate.
      • Fill out the Description, Quantity, Unit Price, and mark the item as Taxable if applicable.
      • Use the Remove button to delete any unwanted line items.
    • Tax Percent: Specify the percentage of tax to apply to taxable line items (optional).
    • Status: Select the status of the estimate, e.g., Draft, Sent, or Accepted.
  4. Review the calculated totals at the bottom of the form, including:

    • Subtotal: The total cost before taxes.
    • Tax: The tax amount calculated based on the specified tax percent and taxable line items.
    • Total: The final total including taxes.
  5. Once all required fields are completed, click the Save button at the bottom of the page to save the estimate.

Additional Tips

  • You can use the Import from QB button on the Estimates page to import estimates from your QuickBooks account, provided the integration is enabled.
  • If you have the AI Writer module enabled, you can click the AI Writer button to generate estimate descriptions using AI.
  • To manage the saved estimate further (e.g., send, edit, or convert to an invoice), return to the Estimates page and use the available actions.
