When syncing products or services to QuickBooks, you may encounter an error stating: “The name supplied already exists. : Id=xxx.” This happens when an item name in EZTrack360 coincides with an existing name in QuickBooks, and the new item is not properly linked to its QuickBooks counterpart. This guide provides steps to resolve this issue.

Why This Happens

This error occurs under the following conditions:

  • You have previously synced items with the same name to QuickBooks (e.g., “Onsite Support Service”).

  • You deleted and recreated those items in EZTrack360, resulting in new items without QuickBooks IDs linked.

  • When syncing, QuickBooks rejects the new items as duplicates.

How to Fix QuickBooks Sync Errors

To resolve this sync conflict, you can choose one of the following methods:

Option 1: Import Items from QuickBooks

  1. Click the settings gear icon ⚙️ in the top right corner of the page.

  2. Navigate to the QuickBooks Online section.

  3. Use the Import from QB button to pull existing items from QuickBooks. This action will ensure that the QuickBooks IDs of these items are correctly linked in EZTrack360.

  4. Retry the sync after completing the import to ensure no duplicates exist.

Option 2: Rename Duplicated Items in EZTrack360

  1. Click the Catalog section in the left sidebar, then select Services / Products.

  2. Locate the items with names that conflict with QuickBooks (e.g., “Your product or service name”).

  3. Edit the names to make them unique, for example, change “Your product or service name” to “Your product or service name v2.”

  4. Save the changes and retry syncing.

Option 3: Remove the Duplicate Items in QuickBooks

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks account directly.

  2. Navigate to the products or services section and search for the duplicate names (e.g., “Your product or service name”).

  3. Delete or rename the duplicate entries.

  4. Return to EZTrack360 and retry the sync process.

Tips for Preventing Future Sync Errors

  • Ensure unique names for all items created in EZTrack360.

  • Use the Import from QB feature whenever re-adding items after deletion.

  • Regularly clean up unnecessary or duplicate items in QuickBooks to avoid conflicts.
